Seeing the world's largest flower market and realizing that some of those flowers would be in New York this afternoon reminds me just how small the world has become. This entire trip has reminded me that there are many people working very hard to accomplish many tasks, big and small, from dairy farmers and lettuce growers in the Netherlands producing healthy and safe food to members of the EU Parliament that make policy decisions that affect the globe. But no matter the task we perform, all of our roles are important and necessary.
