What
an amazing experience our Class IX had during our trip to South America. We all
were in agreeance, prior to our trip, that the order of our travels: Peru,
Chile then Argentina would only get better as we went along. The majority of
the group was pretty surprised when it was almost backwards.
Peru
showed us its rich culture, beautiful vineyards, friendly locals and unique
shops. A few of us attended a Catholic mass on Sunday, June 7th:

We then flew from Lima to Santiago, Chile just in time for a few from our group to attend the first game of the Copa America "football", I mean soccer, game. I do not have pictures of that, since I attended a steak house! As a group, we did all travel in the early morning hours, besides the never tardy 'Darnell' Scott, to the wholesale market:

We traveled to the coastal resort town of Vina del Mar for a few wonderful days. Enjoying a few sunsets on the Pacific:

We learned about the limits put on Argentina's export markets including beef, soybeans and corn and heard the frustrations associated with these quotas. Even our hunting guide (on the dove hunting excursion that a ten of us added on to the end of our trip in Cordoba) had serious opinions about it.

Its obvious that Argentina has some issues to work out with its high debt and rapid inflation. We tried to circulate some dollars into their system by spending plenty of money in their gift shops and of course, in shotgun shells!
