Peppers and Quinoa in the Andean region

The view from the valley in La Molina at National Agrarian University where 800 of the 5,000 students focus in Agronomy. Here they are testing hundreds of potential new varieties of peppers that might bring economical benefit to the Andean region. Also lots of research being done on new strains of quinoa that could increase production amidst challenging environs and limited arable land. Today's varieties of quinoa cannot produce enough to supply the growing demand  from wealthy nations and the need of daily food by the Peruvian people.
