We are now on the train from Shanghai to Beijing. Today was a good day. We visited a vegetable production farm, owned by Speedling (Greg's company) and a flower garden that produces orchids. Both were very nice. Along the bus ride to these places, we were able to see more of the countryside. There was farming everywhere, but no real obvious organization to any of it, which seems to be a trend for many things (especially the traffic). There would be fields along the highway with houses randomly place throughout them. Some were large, others were more like shacks. Dinner was much more authentic Chinese than our previous meals. Lunch was actually mcdonalds and it tasted the same! Before dinner we had some time to wonder the streets close to the restaurant. The group really enjoyed this because we were able to see some of the things that go on. There were fruit stands, random shops with everything you can imagine piled to the ceilings, and even some live frogs, fish and turtles for sale to take home and cook for dinner. Thank goodness we have only experienced chicken, beef, pork, and some fish. Hopefully tomorrow we will have better access to the Blog and will be able to post a few pictures. We will be arriving to Beijing around 7:30am. We hope everyone is well at home and we will try to keep you as updated as possible!
